The Villa is set in a panoramic position, atop a small hill surrounded by a 35,000 sqm centuries-old park, an authentic botanical garden where countless rare and precious species coexist in harmony.

In 1903, German textile industrialist Maximilian Heydweiller purchased a vast estate stretching from the hills of Gardone Sopra down to the lakefront in the Fasano area.

He commissioned architects Voltz & Wimmer of Strasbourg to design a prestigious representative villa, while the renowned botanist Wilhelm Halm - who contributed to Gardone’s reputation as the Garden City - was entrusted with transforming the hillside into a magnificent landscaped park.

The elevated position today grants Hotel Villa del Sogno a wide, unique, and extraordinarily luminous view over Lake Garda, which lies below like a calm blue carpet, changing its emotional character with every shift of light.

It is said that Gabriele D’Annunzio once described Villa del Sogno’s terrace as “the most beautiful terrace on Lake Garda.”
